Mel started her career in London at The Moving Picture company, shooting effects elements for commercials (she can credit quite a few shots from ads that you have seen) as well as many many pack shots. It is here where she was introduced to commercials!
When she returned to South Africa she approached its top commercials production company, started out as a Creative Researcher and set out to thoroughly learn the craft.
The industry has changed tremendously but it is her history and experience in advertising, having worked alongside and learned from the top directors at the top of the game - that is invaluable when she takes on a job.
