When Opera Mini approached FORT to create localised content following a successful overseas campaign, we chose to veer away from any collateral that would make the brand feel international, and instead offer up a concept that would authentically connect with Afrillennials and reflect what they prefer to watch, wear and listen to. Our goal was to entertain, not advertise, so we celebrated local youth culture against backdrops that featured everything from township yards and taverns, to taxi ranks and street markets. Empowerment and recognition of young diverse Africans –– women in particular –– were common themes throughout. The result is a vibrant and highly energetic reflection of Afrillennials, and our growing voice in the digital space.
